This battery operated electronic stud finder is a gem. It is fully automatic. You just hold the side button and slide the Studsensor along your wall. A series of beeps and a line of red lights let's you know when you have found each edge of the stud. There is a Deepscan mode for the tougher to find ones as well. There is a felt backing so that the wall surface you are scanning is not scrapped or marred. A great Father's Day gift for that Do-it-Yourselfer. Runs on 2 double A batteries. BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED
